A workplace-based intervention designed to enhance stress resilience among employees
Method: Randomized controlled trial (RCT)
SDG 3. Good Health and Well-being
Work-related stress is a growing public health concern with adverse effects on individual well-being, organizational sustainability, and health equity. Evidence-based, scalable workplace interventions are urgently needed.
This randomized controlled trial (RCT) assessed the impact of a workplace intervention on stress resilience in employees. Participants were randomly assigned to an intervention group or a no-intervention control group. The intervention group attended three 60-minute group activity sessions at a nearby park, held once every two weeks. Each session included mindful walking, gentle movement, nature observation, breathing exercises, and group reflection. The control group continued their usual daily routines. Outcomes—blood pressure (BP), heart rate variability (HRV), and self-reported psychological measures—were collected at three time points: baseline (T1), post-intervention (T2), and follow-up (T3).
A brief, nature-based workplace intervention delivered in park settings can effectively enhance employee stress resilience. These findings support integrating nature-based programs into workplace mental health policies.
